Proofreading is the final step before you send your writing out into the world. Even if you’ve already done line editing or copyediting, having a proofreader look over your work is never a bad idea. A proofreader will look at every letter of your work, editing for spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes. They will not give you structural feedback, but will instead focus on the correctness of your words and sentences. However, they can still catch any discrepancies in your story, and flag ambiguous or incorrect statements.
Our proofreaders edit according to the Chicago Manual of Style as a standard but can also work with formats like MLA and APA for academic work or other works with specific requirements.
